Praising the Lord for over 100 Years

Westview Christian Reformed Church is a body of believers located on the north west side of Grand Rapids. As a Christian Reformed Church we believe that Christians do not earn their salvation, but that it is a wholly unmerited gift from God, and that good works are the Christian response to that gift. Please join us as we celebrate our walk with God.

Mission, Vision, Goals

Westview Christian Reformed Church is a body of believers whose purpose is to glorify God by living
holy and obedient lives as directed by God’s holy and infallible Word. We strive to equip members to minister to others in the name of Christ, and bring others to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

It is our desire to build relationships with God, with each other, with our neighbors, and with our world.

We have a strong desire to reach and serve our community with the love of Jesus.
We strive to create joyful, God-honoring worship services which energize and equip us to serve others.
We desire to be filled and led by the Holy Spirit.

What CRC means

Westview is a congregation in a denomination called the Christian Reformed Church.

The name “Christian” means that we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins and is the Savior of the world. We live in gratitude in our life and worship because of His free gift of grace and mercy.

“Reformed” means that we have our beginning in the Protestant Reformation that began in Europe in the 1500’s. We emphasize the Bible as the true Word of God and that all of life comes under the reign and rule of Christ.

And we are a “Church” because God’s people need each other to grow spiritually and God desires that His people come together for worship and spiritual growth.

What we believe

We hold common beliefs with Christians around the world.

We believe that the whole Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It contains all that people in any age need to know for their salvation.

We believe that God created the world, the fall of mankind, and the work of redemption revealed in the Old and New Testaments.

We believe in the Virgin Birth, the Trinity, and Second Coming of Christ.

Three creeds adopted by the worldwide church centuries ago summarize the most important tenants of our faith: The Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.

The Heidelberg Catechism is an historic confession that beautifully outlines a Reformed perspective of faith.

We believe in the sovereignty of God, the Kingdom of God, as expressed in the covenant of Grace promised to all who believe.
