Children's Ministries
Jesus said "Let the children come to me." The people of Westview CRC obey this command and support each other in bringing up our children with Christian beliefs.
Children's Worship
During the morning church service, we offer 3 different programs that are designed for younger children. We invite you to bring your children any time you visit! All of the children's rooms are located upstairs near the sanctuary.
Nursery- We have a fully staffed Infant and Toddler nursery. We also have a private nursing area attached to the nursery. Parents will check their child into nursery and receive a numbered wristband. We have a great notification system so that we can page you during the service if necessary.
Little Lambs- For children ages 2 and 3. During Little Lambs, children hear a Bible story and sing a few songs. Then there is a time of guided play in which the teacher tries to reinforce the Bible truths they read about that day.
Worship Center- For children ages 4 through 1st Grade. This is a place where your child can come each Sunday to worship and fellowship with other children. It is a worship service geared for children. They hear a story from the Bible, sing songs, pray, respond to the story and have a snack.
Church School
Following the morning service, children in grades 2-11 attend Church School. We use curriculum from Faith Alive Ministries to teach age appropriate Bible lessons. We want each child to develop their own relationship with the Lord.
Library
Each Sunday morning, the church library is a popular place for children to stop and find a book, video or DVD. Children may check out items just like your public library. The library is located off of the Friendship room upstairs.
GEMS (2nd-8th grade girls)
During the school year, GEMS meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings of the month from 6:30-8:00 PM. The GEMS year usually begins with a weekend retreat that is a lot of fun!
Junior Cadets (2nd & 3rd grade boys) and Cadets (4th-7th grade boys)
During the school year, Junior Cadets meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings of the month from 6:30-8:00 PM. Cadets meets on every other Monday from 7-9 PM.
Sonshine Choir (preschool-5th graders)
The choir practices on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:15 PM with dinner provided immediately afterwards for those children who will stay at church for GEMS and Junior Cadets. The Sonshine Choir sings in church a few times a year. Call Deb with any questions. 742-6785. Sonshine Choir is finished for this year-see you in the fall!
VBS (kindergarten-6th grade)
One week each summer, Westview offers Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children from all around the neighborhood. The week ends with a big celebration picnic and children's program! NO VBS SUMMER 2009
