Outreach & Service

One of the exciting things about Westview CRC is we are weekly engaged in outreach and service ministry. We have a missional pic 1 relationship with Matthew’s House on the west side and the Northwest Food Pantry. We have a Furniture Pantry here at church and distribute pre-made frozen meals to the hungry. We partner with C.A. Forst Elementary School to assist with their needs. We also have “Service Saturday” each year to bless, build and help our neighbors in any way. We have service projects out of state and a growing refugee ministry. Are you looking for a place to serve and help neighbors? Westview CRC is the place. Contact Pastor Pete at pastorpete@westviewcrc.org for more information.

HIS Place

Since 1995 Westview has partnered with HIS Place Ministries located at 635 Butterworth SW. HIS Place seeks to meet local people at points of need in their lives by helping with daily challenges and guiding them into relationships with the Lord through working toward sustainable change, creating stability in families and community, and connecting them to local churches or strong faith communities. HIS Place works with both men and women but maintains a strong focus on reaching men, helping them to become stable and strong leaders in their families, workplace, communities and churches. One on one mentoring, small group Bible studies, support sessions, fellowship dinners, prayer walks and Project Phillip Bible studies are conducted by the staff.

Service Saturday

Traditionally in May, members of the congregation set out on a Saturday to do community service projects within our pic 2 community.  Projects traditionally involve yard work, cleaning or small DIY projects in which we try to work and bond with our neighborhood community.  Please check the Westview Communicator for upcoming opportunities.

Volunteers In Service (VIS)

Since 1989 Westview has actively partnered with Volunteers In Service whose purpose is to help West Michigan churches witness Christ’s love in action. VIS helps churches and their leaders discover the gifts of discipleship through training, resources, and volunteer opportunities.

Wycliffe Bible Translators

Today about 180 million people do not have any Scripture in their language. Wycliffe’s vision is to see the Bible accessible to all people in the language they understand best. To make this vision a reality, Wycliffe also focuses on community development, literacy development and church partnerships.

Westview Supported Missionaries

Westview currently supports missionaries in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Tennessee.
